TRANSPORTATION PROJECT FROM TURKEY TO ALGERIA
Turkey to Algeria Power Transformer Transportation – Best Project
Netaş Global successfully completed a large-scale power transformer transportation project from Balıkesir, Turkey to Algeria, transporting 2,200 tonnes of project cargo across approximately 3,200 kilometres.
The Best Project involved the international transportation of 13 power transformer main bodies, each weighing 152 tonnes, together with additional project cargo comprising a total of 461 transported items.
The transformer main bodies alone represented approximately 1,976 tonnes of heavy cargo, making detailed heavy haul planning and multimodal coordination essential throughout the operation.
To complete the transportation from Turkey to Algeria, Netaş Global developed an integrated land-sea-land multimodal logistics solution, coordinating road transportation in Turkey, sea freight between the two countries and onward road transportation in Algeria.
152-Tonne Power Transformer Transportation
Transporting power transformers of this scale requires specialized heavy transport equipment, detailed route planning and careful coordination at every stage of the journey.
Each of the 13 transformer main bodies weighed 152 tonnes, requiring project-specific heavy haul solutions for the road transportation stages.
In addition to the transformer units, hundreds of accompanying components and project cargo items were coordinated as part of the same international shipment.
Overall, the project included:
- 13 power transformer main bodies
- 152 tonnes per transformer
- 2,200 tonnes total transported cargo
- 461 transported items
- Approximately 3,200 km of transportation
- Land – Sea – Land multimodal transportation
Multimodal Project Logistics from Turkey to Algeria
International transformer logistics between Turkey and Algeria requires the coordination of several transportation stages rather than a single freight movement.
The project began with the heavy road transportation of the transformer units and accompanying cargo from Balıkesir, Turkey.
The cargo was then prepared for international sea transportation before continuing by road to the final destination in Algeria.
By integrating road transportation, port operations and sea freight into a single logistics plan, Netaş Global coordinated the complete cargo flow from origin to destination.
Heavy Haul and Energy Project Logistics
Power transformers are among the most demanding types of industrial cargo due to their exceptional weight, dimensions and importance to energy infrastructure projects.
Their transportation requires detailed consideration of:
- Cargo weight and dimensions
- Heavy transport equipment configuration
- Route conditions
- Loading and securing requirements
- Port handling
- Sea freight coordination
- International project documentation
- Final road transportation and delivery
For the Best Project, these different operational stages were managed as part of one integrated heavy project logistics solution.
