Turkey to Iraq Power Transformer Transportation – Besmeyah Project

Netaş Global successfully completed the road transportation of six 98-ton power transformer main bodies, together with spare parts, from Turkey to Besmeyah, Iraq.

The Besmeyah Project involved the transportation of six power transformer main bodies, each weighing 98 tonnes, with a combined transformer weight of 588 tonnes.

The cargo was transported entirely by road from Turkey to Iraq, covering approximately 1,800 kilometres. The complete transportation operation was successfully completed within 14 days.

In addition to the six transformer main bodies, the project also included 25 spare-part loads and an oil tanker, requiring the coordination of multiple vehicles as part of the same international heavy transport operation.

Heavy Transformer Transportation from Turkey to Iraq

Power transformer transportation requires detailed route planning, suitable heavy haul equipment and careful coordination throughout the entire journey.

For the Besmeyah Project, Netaş Global deployed:

• 6 lowbed trailers for the transformer main bodies
• 25 flatbed trailers for spare parts and accompanying project cargo

Each transformer main body weighed 98 tonnes, requiring a heavy transport configuration suitable for long-distance international road transportation.

The operation covered approximately 1,800 km between Turkey and Iraq, combining heavy haul planning, convoy coordination and cross-border project logistics.
